For most customers ".pages" files are treated as malware and quarantined.
If your business makes extensive used of PAGES files then we can ALLOW the file type but if it's only occaisional then we would prefer to release on demand.
“Pages” is a inbuilt document reader in Apple macOS but .pages files are not supported on Windows, you cannot open them without converting them.
If you want to show or edit a .pages file on a Windows PC, you will get an error and Windows will ask you to choose an app.
If you want to open a .pages file on a Windows PC then you will need to convert it to Word or ask your sender to send you a WORD file instead, it's very easy for them and the simplest way for them to create the word version of their .pages file is to save the pages file using File > Export to > Word.
You can also use various online conversion tools like the ones below to convert the pages file:
- to word (docx): https://www.freeconvert.com/pages-to-docx
- to pdf: https://www.freeconvert.com/pages-to-pdf
Note: Some online conversion tools may or may not read or store your data so use them at your discretion, we are only making it known here that such tools exist. If your PAGES file contains sensitive data then perhaps use a paid service or ask the sender to export to word format and send you another copy.
